The scope of existence
A railway
I researched and asked for  people’s view on life and many of them said life was a beautiful thing  and they’re happy to live their lives. They seems to be enjoying the “good” things of life out there. Those luxurious cars, house ,expense trips, clubbing and the fun generally.
Some said they really don’t know why they’re living or what they are living for. I observed those who see human existence from these angle are mostly the middle class, the youths and children . The purpose of our existence is commonly asked at our youthful ages, when we are trying to find the easiest way to navigate life. These questions are raised also by knowledge seekers, scholars and philosophers.
To some who believe in living each day as it comes, they didn’t even care at all because they knew they would eventually meet death soon or later, kind of similar to the character named Meursault in the book “The Stranger ”  by Albert Camus. When Meursault’s mother passed away he felt apathetic towards her passing. He viewed himself as an outsider to the rest of the whole world. Meursault argues that the only certain thing in life is the belief of death, and because all humans will eventually meet death, all lives are all the same and meaningless said: “Meursault”
People like Socrate and Plato said that our purpose in life was to gain knowledge in preparation for next life. And then I wonder, ‘next life’?   Are actually struggling to get meaning to the current life we live in. When we are faced here with lots of life puzzles. When we are trying to unwrap the mystery behind human existence, here we are with a suggestion that our present life is preparing us for a journey we don’t even have the map to. Who knows if we are meeting up with the criteria to qualify us to this next journey? Well, life after here will tell.
Other philosophers such as Epicurus believed that pleasure is the main goal in life. After giving these ideas lots of thoughts.
I have come to my own conclusion that the true meaning of life is far more complex than either of these; far too complex for any human to fully comprehend. In fact these two different philosophers are only part of the grand picture. If it were that easy for men to figure out, our lives wouldn’t be so messed up now. The meaning of life revolves around many different things.
Perhaps on a deeper level Socrates might have been talking about analyzing the purpose of one’s life. But this in my own opinion is just as important. I feel that in order for me to succeed in life I have to at least examine the meaning of my being.  I believe that it comes to a point in every person’s life where they sit back and think “why am I here?” whether it happens often or not, I wouldn’t believe any person of sane health that said they never once had thought about it.
Socrates also said that “the good of life is knowledge” he believed in a higher good in life that could be achieved through an endless search for knowledge. His definition of higher good was when virtue and knowledge united. Although I agree that what Socrates speaks of, is an important part of living, I would not go so far as to say it is the reason for living. I say this is partially because of my definition of knowledge. I see knowledge not as just to be found in the universe, but in a way created by humans not unlike myself.
Many things that are classified as knowledge such as: language, mathematics, history are all human created. Our language was created by people in earlier civilizations, as well as mathematics. History is the story of these early people and civilization.
What do we actually say is the reason for human existence? To occupy the earth and subdue it? Are we here in preparation of another world to come?
I finally conclude after my research that our purpose of life differs just like our faces and gifts. Some people may not be able to achieve these purposes until their dying days.
Realizing the scope of our existence is the reason why we don’t stay back in the bed at sunrise. Collective of the reasons why we leave our beds in the morning, is to achieve these purposes. If we can make good use of our existence on the earth, the next world our great philosophers talked about will be a beautiful world of our dreams. The Scope of Existence is unlimited to a particular thing.
